I am a Gestalt therapist and my experience of offering therapy comes from working within several GP surgeries as a practice counsellor. Since 2013 I have worked in private practice.

Gill Cassidy

BA (Hons) MBACP (Accredited)

My role gave me the privilege  of supporting many different people from all walks of life. I love my work.

I am a relationally embodied Gestalt therapist working towards accreditation as a Gestalt Psychotherapist .
I am a member of the Gestalt Psychotherapy and Training Institute (GPTI) and am governed and adhere to their code of practice and ethical code. See: Edinburgh Gestalt Institute for further information . I hold a diploma in humanistic counselling and am accredited through the BACP . I  offer therapy within a private and peaceful space in County Durham .

I am fully insured and in regular supervision to support my work. I adhere to the BACP Framework for good practice.

A therapy session is £45.00 per session for individuals and £55 per couple.

I have some available space for clients  who wish to come for therapy and also wish to discuss a reduced fee . If this is you, please ask me.

As a gestalt therapist I seek to collaborate with you as we explore ways of healing. My belief is that we are  wounded in relationship and we will find healing through relationship if we learn how to give  tender attention to our relational wounds and conditioned responses. Together we will explore patterns that show up in our lives . My own journey with  Gestalt therapy has been exquisite. I hope I can offer this to you now.

Therapy may include working creatively with movement, art, dreamwork  or journalling. We will pay attention to what supports you best.

This passage from the Irish poet John O Donohue expresses my foundational faith in psychotherapy .”What you encounter, recognise or discover depends to a large degree on the quality of your approach….When we approach with reverence ,great things decide to approach us ”

Enough said for now.
